Poem, “My Heart Will Not Rest”

I have chosen
To wander in silence
Tonight,
Listening to the
Sweet drone of the
Spaces
Where you once
Sat,
Defenseless against
The pruning
Laughter and my
Lean suspicions
That you would not
Dock
In the harbor of all my
Doubts.

One Response to Poem, “My Heart Will Not Rest”

  • Thanks so much for taking the time to comment on “My Heart Will Not Rest.” I think the person to whom the narrator is addressing left him/her for doubting whether the relationship would work. In many ways a kind of self fulfilling prophecy….John
