My Fear, My Lover

Stretched bodies
On hospital gurneys,
Fear in the air,
With outspread wings,
Curved talons,
Gliding through
The willing sky,
Its startled prey
Once more
A skin-soft lover,
Aching, in real time,
To be fondled,
Wet-tongued
Into sweet surrender.
