Adam, Thanks for your positive comments about my Blog Post. I am a loner out there in a field of many bloggers. I am trying to promote my material but I don’t have the resources right now to do more marketing. I try not to get discouraged, but I am developing a solid group of readers. Wonderful blog! Do you have any hints for aspiring writers? I’m hoping to start my own website soon but I’m a little lost on everything. The church in Chile spoke out against the pinochet dictatorship, and priests got arrested for it. Bolano didn’t live in Chile during the dictatorship. Ask Chileans who did, and even if they are secular and think that the church is against progress, they will say good things about what the church did under Pinochet.

Read “The Savage Detectives,” keeping faith through the long middle section, and if you still don’t like it when you’re done, then you can probably forget about the rest of Bolaño. I’d certainly read it first before “2666.”
